Advertising Photography on the Beach
Beach has been the theme of many an advertisement and ad campaign. But ask any photographer, and you will get to hear stories about how disappointing it is when you click beautiful pictures at the beach from various positions and with different focus, only to come back and develop them to see real bad quality images.Usually, the problems that advertising photographer faces with pictures taken on the beach are related to the 'lighting'. The sand and the sea reflect so much light which spoils an image completely. What looks good to the naked eye may not look good on the pictures. And this is generally a problem with pictures shot in broad daylight in harsh sun light casting deep and heavy shadows.
The problem also occurs due to the film chosen for the shoot. A film in camera requires a certain range of light that would ensure sufficient exposure. This would not be very bright, nor would it be too dark a?? just right for the film to understand the light perfectly in the instance of the opening and closing of the shutter. Even a small imbalance in the perfect exposure of light between the diaphragm and the shutters would lead to too much light or not sufficient light and hence spoil the image quality.
To capture beautiful moments at the beach, you should avoid the ISO 400 film. ISO 100 and ISO 200 would suit just fine for clicking the beach and its hues on a bright sunny afternoon. These films are less grainy and are better for you when you need lively and multi-coloured pictures. They are also good for Advertising photography when you need great enlarged pictures.
Also, be careful when you get the pictures developed. Use a new chemical when you wash the pictures for advertising photography, lest you end up with your lovely model looking too red for an SPF formula product.
